The Ancient History Book Tag

Χαῖρε my dear friends, I am so sorry I was not active from so long.

I saw this tag on Worlds Unlike Our Own. BTW there are some interesting tags on this blog, so go check it out!

let’s start with the tag!

1. The Stone Age: one of the first books you remember reading

Considering novels, I remember reading Nancy Drew. Nancy introduced me to the world of mystery, so yeah I loved her.

2. Ancient Greece: your favourite myth-inspired book (doesn’t have to be Greek mythology), or retelling

All of Uncle Rick’s, duh!

3. The Roman Empire: a book featuring an impressive empire or kingdom

I think I like The Land of Stories best because it has all of my favorite classic characters with a twist😍

4. The Middle Ages, (or the Dark Ages): a book that is an absolute bummer

Animal Farm!!!

5. The Renaissance: a book that you’ve learned a lot from, or that made you think

It’s really difficult…. but I think it will be a tie between harry potter and kotlc.

6. The Industrial Revolution: a book featuring an invention or concept that you would love to have in your own life

The concept in The midnight library by Matt Haig, how people get chances after dying to change something in life and see how differently life turns out. It intrigued me.

7. World War I & II: your favourite historical fiction book about the World Wars (or if you don’t have one, your favourite historical fiction book in general)

I don’t like to read about WWs but if I have to choose then I would say ‘The diary of a young girl’.

8. Present Day: a book everybody should read in present day according to you

Now this I cannot answer because there are so many books.

Book Haul Again!

I have to make a new one 😕

Hey bibliophiles, so as we all know that the most necessary thing to survive is books so I have done another book haul!

let’s start cause’ I still have to complete my homework 😁🤩

  1. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
  2. Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
  3. Legend by Marie Lu
  4. Prodigy by Marie Lu
  5. Champion by Marie Lu
  6. Story before legend
  7. Scars like Wings by Erin Stewart
  8. Brightstorm by Vashti Hardy
  9. Darkwhispers by Vashti Hardy
  10. And….. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir!

So the first 6 are in e-book format while the last 4 are paperbacks. I have finished Legend and started prodigy and I have to say that the hype about this series is soo correct. I am so hooked😁

BTW the next post is a recipe.

Truly Devious Box Set!

So I recently bought the Truly Devious series as a treat for after the exams.

For this series I made a book mark. I didn’t have much time because my classes started the next day, so it is not that good.

So on one side there is a quote by Stevie from The Vanishing Star. And on the other side is a quote from The Unwanteds. I am going to buy that series too so…. Anyways here it is🥳🥳

As I am super lazy I wrote it instead of printing 😜

I will try to put a review soon🙂

Till then bye!

Recipe- Pizza on a pan😋😋😋

Hi foodies! Do you wanna know how to make a pizza on a pan? Then Keep reading😁

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup dahi
  • Corn
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 1 medium Capsicum
  • Sauce
  • Mayonise
  • Cheese
  • Chilli Flakes
  • Oregano

1.Take 1 cup flour and add 1 cup curd or dahi in it.

2. Knead it to make a dough. Add 1 tsp of oil and knead it.

2. Make two balls, roll one of the balls, sprinkle it with some flour so that it doesn’t stick.

This should be the thickness

3. Use anything you want, I like to use corn, onion and capsicum. The onion should be sliced and not diced.

4. You can mix two to three sauce. I mixed mayo with hot and sweet, ketchup and chings desi Chinese chutney

5. Heat the pan. Apply some butter so that the pizza crust doesn’t stick. Check after two minutes and if it is done then turn it over.

6. Now you don’t have much time, quickly apply the sauce on the part(this side will already be cooked) Apply it generously.

7. Now spread the veges on top of it.

8. Now put the grated cheese on top of it and sprinkle the chilli flakes and oregano. While putting together this keep the flame low or off it for a while so that the base doesn’t burn.

9. Now cover it with a lid so that the cheese gets melted faster.

See the base

Voila! Your pizza is ready. For the first few times it may take longer but when you have made it time and again, it gets easier and faster.

Some photos are missing as this draft is quite old.

Put the chilli flakes and oregano on the cheese so that it doesn’t fall off during eating.

Also cut the pizza when it has cooled down. Cause’ when you cut the pizza when it is still hot the cheese rends to stick to the knife.

Also if you remember we made two balls of the dough, so you can make two pizzas. If you want to make a single one for trial first then use 1/2 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of curd.

Things every book lover should have📚

Bonjour tout le monde! (I am trying French and so far this is all I remember😂)

Anyway here are some things that I think are a must in every bibliophile’s room. Some if these are tried and tested and some are waiting in my Amazon cart 😜

1. Invisible Book Shelves

I am so satisfied with these. It looks like the books are floating and I love how much difference it has made to my room. The shelves are amazing, just don’t forget to keep it balanced, if you put too many on the top and don’t fill the bottom the shelf will get bended over the time. Otherwise it is a good choice.

2. Adjustable light

I love reading at night, cozied up in my bed. This light was my night time companion. Some variants can also be attached to the kindle.

3. Clock

This is the thing I am planning on buying but I the reason I haven’t bought it yet is because I can’t decide which one. 😕

4.  Thumb Book Holder

I really have to buy this. I always have coffee or something in one hand and it is sooo hard to keep the page open.  I think it is quite useful.

5. Magnetic bookmarks

When I had read the description I knew this was for me(cause’ my bookmark always falls off). The prints on these are soo cute.😍😍😍

6. Book Sleeve

This is so obvious, any potterhead will be craving to get their hands on this. This sleeve looks big enough to hold 2 books at least😀 And whenever I go somewhere I keep at least 2 books with me.

7. Handsfree Reading stand

This looks perfect when you have to eat while reading😁😜 after all it’s called ‘handsfree’ reading stand.

8. Mugs

This is pretty obvio😄And most of the things written on these mugs are soo right. How perfect!

9. Book lamp

This looks so quaint, just perfect. I think most of us night time readers will agree that this is just what you need to make it seem magical.

10. Book Support stand

OK, now this is pretty obvio so I won’t embarrass myself by trying to explain what it is used for.

Most of these things set the perfect mood for reading and some are essential for readers. I don’t know about you but I have to go place some orders😉

Semolina (Suji) halwa

Hi all, this post is something new as I have never posted food recipes…. Let’s hope ya all like it

Today I made Semolina or Suji ka halwa. The recipe is super simple and the results is very tasty😃

Ingredients needed:

Semolina/Suji : 1cup   .                     Ghee/clarified butter: 2 tbsp  .      Sugar : 1 & 1/4cup.                        Water : 3cups.                                             Cardamom pwdr 2-3pinches.                  Almond pwdr : 7-8 almonds              Mithai mate : 1 tbsp( it is sweetened condensed milk)

Note: The cup used to measure should be same.

So let’s begin:

Take a vessel with a thick bottom and put 1 cup Semolina and 2 tbsp Ghee/ clarified butter and keep mixing in time intervals until golden brown, on low flame.

On the another stove take a vessel and put Sugar and water and start stirring on medium-low flame until the sugar is fully dissolved. Once it is done wait for 2 mins to let it cool a little and then add sweetened condensed milk in it and stir.

Add almond pwdr and cardamom pwdr to the dry mix and keep both things ready.

Caution: If the liquid is mixed with the dry ingredients when it is ‘very hotthen it may cause an explosion if liquid is kept for too long it mbay crystallize so both the things should be ready in time.

When both batches are mixed on medium heat it may look like a muddle but slowly it gets into the corrent consistency. Just keep stirring.

When slightly cooked then do as I have done in the picture below because of this the heat is not direct and there is no chance of halwa sticking at the bottom.

Placing it on a flat tava

After 5 mins of doing 👆🏻off the stove , garnish with pistachios, almonds, raisins and serve hot.

Enjoy😋😋😋😋!!! And let me know the result or tips if any

Sorry for the photos while cooking I couldn’t capture better photos…

Bonus Keefe story #6

+ DAY SIX +

“I’ve got it!” Keefe shouted, raising his arm and pumping his fist—which didn’t hurt anymore. Even when he waved both arms around.

“You figured out what to buy for your little girlfriend?” Ro asked, peeking her head into his room.

“No. Well . . . kinda. But I was talking about this!” He held up a small gold-and-silver square. “I got the last piece to fit! I can even take it apart and put it back together. I know the trick now.”

“Okay, but . . . what is it?”

“I have no idea,” Keefe admitted.

Ro smirked. “Good thing you’re not trying to swoop in and save the day anymore, ’cause that’s definitely not going to do it.”

“Hey, this is still important,” Keefe argued. “My mom hid it for a reason.”

“I’m sure she did,” Ro agreed, twisting her nose ring. “But let’s hope your gift idea is more exciting.”

“It is. It’s going to take me a little while to make it—but it’ll seriously top every gift she’s been given before.”

His fingers were already itching to get started on it.

But first he needed to get out of that bed, so he was more than a little relieved when Elwin finally gave him the all clear during his evening checkup.

“I still want you to take tonight to rest, though,” Elwin warned. “You’re not off bed rest until the morning.”

“Be glad,” Ro told him after Elwin left. “Now you have some time to figure out how to make your girl forgive you.”

Keefe shrugged. “I already know.”

“Groveling?” Ro guessed.

“Oh, I’m sure there’ll be plenty of that.”

But afterward, he had a plan.

From that point on, he only had one goal: to be whatever Sophie needed.

Not the hero.

Not the one taking charge of everything.

Just a guy ready to listen and help and be there for her.

A friend.

Until she was ready for more

😭😭😭

Hi people, I know this is the third post today. But I am really sad and wanted to share.

That only a few people have read my book. And….. Well… I am sooo sad

Feels nice to share😕

Book review- Ayesha And The Fire Fish

Title: Ayesha And The Fire Fish

Author: Ajay Chowdhury

Format: Paperback

Pages: 200

My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

About(from Goodreads): ‘Ayesha thought for a bit. Her parents had told her never to talk to strangers. But they hadn’t mentioned anything about strange dolphins.’

Ten-year-old Ayesha has everything an adventurer needs—courage, cleverness, creativity, and a complete lack of caution. But even Ayesha has to admit that the mission Shekina (the Queen of the Seas, no less) has charged her with may be slightly out of her league.

After all, it does involve saving the world. Of course.

And it’s not like she has a fire-breathing dragon or a super-smart android as a sidekick. Try a snarky surfboarding snail instead.

Join Ayesha as she jumps headlong into an extra-extraordinary adventure that takes her halfway across the world (and a little beyond).

My review: First of all I found the cover fascinating. And I couldn’t resist reading the book after going through the blurb…… The book was gripping and my attention didn’t waver a bit!

Also many beautiful illustrations were there which made me feel as though the story was unfolding in front of my eyes….. I could literally feel the breeze, the water, the adventure. It was a refreshing read tbh.

So totally go for it!

Bonus Keefe story #5

+ DAY FIVE +

“You are never going to figure that out!” Ro screamed as Keefe continued the plink-plink-plinking.

“You’re just mad because you couldn’t figure it out either,” Keefe shouted back.

She’d been so smug when she’d wrenched the pieces from his hands to give it a try that Keefe had laughed himself hoarse when she’d failed. And since then, he’d managed to fit three of the four pieces together. But the last piece was ridiculously stubborn.

Ro stalked into his doorway with a bottle of blue nail polish  in one hand and half-painted claws on the other. “No, I’m mad because you’re only doing this to try to fix things with your little girlfriend and it’s not going to work.”

Keefe jingled the pieces extra loud.

But after several seconds he had to ask, “Why isn’t it going to work?”

Ro snorted. “Wow, you really have it bad, don’t you? Nope, no need to deny it. It’s so obvious it’s actually adorable. Especially since she’s totally clueless about it. You know that, right?”

Keefe rolled his eyes.

And he was all set to argue—but for some reason “Yeah, I’m an Empath,” slipped out.

“Ohhhhh, that’s true. Wow, I didn’t even think about that.” Ro giggled as she crossed the room and sat beside him on the bed. “That must drive you crazy.”

“Pretty much,” Keefe mumbled.

It wasn’t even the worst part—but he managed to stop himself from bringing up that.

“You get why, though, right?” Ro asked, slicking blue paint across another claw. “Why your girl doesn’t get how much you liiiiiiiiiiike her?”

He sighed. “Because she grew up hearing every less-thanawesome thought anyone ever had about her—even from her parents and sister and stuff. So now some part of her always assumes that everyone has those kinds of thoughts about her, even though she can’t hear them anymore.”

Ro blinked. “Okay, I was not expecting you to get all deep on me.”

Keefe shrugged. “It’s true.”

“Not saying it isn’t. Huh, I never thought about how brutal your elf-y abilities could be. Add it to the list of reasons I’m glad I’m not one of you. But that’s not what I was talking about.”

He had a feeling she was never going to let him live it down if he asked, but . . . “Okay, Miss Smarty Pants, what’s your theory for the Great Foster Oblivion?”

She held up her hand, blowing on her blue claws. “That’s your problem right there. You make everything a joke. It sends way too many mixed signals—especially for a girl with all that complicated stuff messing with her head.”

“Maybe. But Foster’s not ready for more than that—trust me.”

Once again, he stopped himself from cluing Ro into the whole square-that-was-now-a-triangle mess. But with how observant she seemed to be, she’d probably figure it out on her own soon enough.

“Well, all I’m saying is: If you’re looking to earn her forgiveness, ‘Here, Sophie, have this creepy thing from my mom’ isn’t going to do it. Especially if you parade in there like you just saved the day. She doesn’t need a hero. She needs a friend. So if you want to say you’re sorry, get her a real present.”

He really hated that she had a point.

And somehow he managed to stop himself from saying  presents are Fitz’s thing. Instead, he admitted, “I don’t know what to give her.”

“Then maybe you should figure that out.”

Yeah, maybe he should.

“And don’t look at me,” she added as she sauntered for the door. “Unless you want weapon advice, I have no idea what makes you elves swoon. But please, for the love of all that’s breathing, don’t let it have sparkles!”

Bonus Keefe Story #4

+ DAY FOUR +

Plink! Plink! Plink!

Ro stomped into his room. “If you make that noise one  more time I’m going to shove those pieces somewhere you’re really not going to like.”

“What, this noise?” Keefe asked, jingling the four weird bits of twisted silver and gold that Ro had brought him back from Candleshade.

He’d been trying to fit them together for hours.

In fact, he’d been ready to throw them across the room. But now that he knew the noise annoyed Ro . . .

“Sorry,” he told her. “I need to find out what these are, and since someone isn’t letting me get out of bed, it’s not like I have anything else to do.”

Plink! Plink! Plink! Plink! Plink!

Ro’s groan rattled the walls.

Bonus Keefe Story#3

+ DAY THREE +

“If this is a trick . . . ,” Ro said, not bothering to finish the threat. The hand by her sword said the rest.

“No trick,” Keefe promised. “I seriously need your help. You found my prank stashes so easily that I’m hoping you can do the same with whatever my mom hid at Candleshade.”

“But why the sudden hurry?” Ro asked.

“Because Elwin’s here now, and you’ll need him to leap you there, since I’m still not allowed out of this stupid bed.”

“You’re not,” Elwin agreed. “And by the way, neither of us are leaving until you take a sedative—and I want to see you down the whole dose.”

Keefe clutched his heart. “Elwin, Elwin, Elwin. After all we’ve been through, do you really not trust me?”

Elwin held out a round, clear vial. “Nope.”

Ro snickered.

“Fine.” Keefe reached for the elixir. If that’s what it took to get Ro to Candleshade, he’d deal with it.

“You really think your mom hid something important there?” Elwin asked as Keefe gulped down the sticky, sweet sedative.

“I hope so.”

Along with the lovely news that his recovery was still taking forever, Elwin had also let Keefe know that Sophie had apparently already gone to Nightfall, and that her family hadn’t been there.

Elwin didn’t have any other details—except that everyone was safe. But Keefe knew Sophie had to be panicking.

He needed to get her another lead to help track down the Neverseen.

“I’d have a way better chance of finding what you’re looking for,” Ro said, “if you let me smash the place.”

“Fine by me. Make as big of a mess as you want. And bonus points if you destroy my dad’s statue.”

“WOO HOO! Things just got interesting in elf land!”

Ro said something else, but Keefe didn’t catch it. His ears had started ringing, and his head had gotten way too spinny.

He sank into his pillow, feeling a hand gently squeeze his shoulder.

Then he was lost to his floaty dreams, most of which focused on the gold-flecked brown eyes he could never get out of his head.

Wondorous Quote#18

Hi, I know I haven’t posted quotes in a long time, but I had so much going on. But I will try to do this more frequently 😊

Here is your Wondorous Quote 😊

“Science is asking questions. And living is not being afraid of the answer.”

Tae Keller, The Science of Breakable Things

Bonus Keefe Story#2

+ DAY TWO +

“You have ten seconds to float back to bed,” Ro warned, without even glancing over her shoulder, “or I’m tying you down and covering you with flesh-eating bacteria.”

Keefe ignored the jolt of pain in his side as he pumped his arms, swimming through the air. “You expect me to believe you have flesh-eating bac—”

Ro leaped across the room, blocking the window he’d been levitating toward, and pulled a small black bottle from her breastplate. She poured a single drop onto her finger, and the  dark blob immediately dissolved her skin into a bloody hole.

Keefe went back to bed.

Ro grinned. “Good boy.”

Bonus Keefe Story#1

Hi ya all, I know I haven’t written a post in a long time. So here is the first one.

+ DAY ONE +

“Look! I’m all better!” Keefe promised, waving his arms and almost knocking over the ugly lamp on the table next to the bed. Not that he cared—he had big plans to trash all of Alvar’s stuff as soon as he was done hiding out there.

“I might be willing to believe you,” Elwin told him, “if you weren’t gritting your teeth every time you move.”

“What? This is how I smile now!” Keefe tightened his jaw and raised one eyebrow. “See? It’s my brooding, mysterious look.”

“Is that what you’re calling it?” Ro asked, plopping next to him and bouncing the mattress so hard that Keefe almost let out a yelp. “All I’m getting is wannabe bad boy.”

Elwin snorted a laugh.

Keefe glared at both of them, wishing he still had some of his favorite elixirs handy. He’d managed to slip some Hush Slush into Ro’s dinner the night before and wiped out her voice for eight glorious hours. But somehow she’d managed to find all of his stashes—even the extra well-hidden ones.

The princess was good.

He was pretty sure she’d also put Gurgle Gut in his breakfast for payback—though if he was right, at least she’d suffer as much as he would when the gurgles broke free.

“I’m fine, okay?” he told Elwin. “I can live with a little pain.”

“It’ll be a lifetime of pain if you don’t listen to me,” Elwin corrected. He flashed a red orb around Keefe’s torso and squinted through his glasses. “Just like I thought. You’re worse today.”

Keefe tossed back his covers. “Fine. Then the bed rest isn’t helping, so I don’t need to—”

He managed to get one foot on the floor before Ro bodyslammed him back to the bed, triggering a throbbing spasm that felt like a gremlin was chomping on his lungs.

“Both of you need to take it easy,” Elwin warned, “or I’m bringing Keefe to my house and putting Bullhorn on guard duty.”

“Um—he’s, like, two pounds of fur,” Keefe told him. “I think I can handle him.”

“I’d love to see you try.” Elwin dug through his satchel and pulled out a deep purple elixir. “But I’d rather you just take another dose of tissue regenerator and get some rest.”

“I can always pry those pouty lips open and pour it down your throat,” Ro added with a smile that showed every single one of her pointed teeth.

Keefe reached for the vial. Years of dealing with his dad had taught him it was easier to pretend to cooperate. So he chugged the medicine, even though it stunk worse than Alvar’s stuffy apartment.

Side note on that: He was pretty sure he didn’t want to know why the whole place reeked like rotting toenails. Or why Alvar had felt the need to cover every surface with mirrors.

“Try not to look so miserable,” Elwin said, taking the empty vial. “It’s only for a week.”

“Uh, do you realize how many times Foster can almost die in a week? Especially when my mom’s the one calling the shots?” Keefe countered.

Elwin sighed. “I know. But you need to get your strength back.”

“Plus, she doesn’t want to see you,” Ro reminded him. “Hey, don’t look at me like that—you know it’s true.”

It was true.

And it made Keefe queasier than the Gurgle Gut.

He couldn’t stop thinking about the burst of emotions Sophie had hit him with as she left the healing center. There hadn’t just been anger. There’d been hurt. And a deep, overwhelming disappointment that had made it hard to breathe.

Elwin patted him on the shoulder. “Give her a chance to cool off—”

“I don’t have time,” Keefe interrupted. “She could be heading to Nightfall right now.”

“If she is, I’m sure she can handle it,” Elwin told him. “I know we love to tease Sophie about all of her emergencies, but the truth is: She’s a survivor. And she has lots of powerful family and friends to back her up.”

“I’m supposed to be one of them,” Keefe argued.

“Then take care of yourself. The more you rest, the faster you’ll recover. And if it’ll make you feel better, I’ll check on her every day and give you updates—but only if you promise to stay in bed.”

“Fine,” Keefe mumbled, slumping down under the covers.

“Oh good!” Ro said. “We’re moving from denial mode to sulky boy. This’ll be fun!”

Keefe shot her a glare.

He wasn’t sulking.

Okay, fine, maybe he was a little—but he was also scheming.

First chance he got, he was sneaking out of Alvar’s apartment and heading straight to Havenfield.

He didn’t care what anyone said. Sophie needed his help.

Simple & Easy Sheer Khurma recipe

Hey Potterhearts, Happy New Year once again ⭐⭐⭐⭐🎉 This recipe is my treat to you guys. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 ltr Milk
  • 2-4 Cardamoms (Can increase or decrease the no.)
  • 5-6 Kajus (Can increase or decrease the no.)
  • 1/2 cup or so Sewai
  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Condensed milk

Recipe:

1) Keep the milk on boiling and put cardamom pwdr and Kajus. This will make Kajus easy to eat and the flavour of cardamom will also come. Stir once and then let it boil.

2) Till it boils take Ghee and let it melt in the pan. After that put the Sewai and saute it until it is a little brown, like this👆🏻

Once it boils

3) Add the Sewai in the boiled milk.

Add the boiled milk in the pan so the Sewai unsticks😁and put it in

4) Once the Sewai comes on the surface, and is big and soft like this add the sugar and condensed milk.

5) Stir it in every 10 mins or so.

Final product!

6) Sewai is ready!!! Enjoy!

Note: Put the sugar after the Sewai is cooked properly or the Sewai may not get cooked. And make this on low flame, be patient. The Sewai should have a medium consistency so that after some time also it doesn’t get too thick.

Wondorous Quote#14

Here is your Wondorous Quote 😊

“After seeing amazing magical places like Neverland, Oz, Narnia and Wonderland, why did you ever want to leave?”

The girls looked to one another; they had never been asked the question before, at least in Alex’s mind.

“Because no matter where you go or what you see, you’ll always want to be where you belong,” Lucy said.

“Your home is where you feel most comfortable and loved,” Wendy said.

“It’s a part of you,” Alice added. “It’s where your family is.”

“There’s no place like home,” Dorothy said, as if it was the first time she’d ever said those words.

Alex appreciated what they had to say, but wasn’t sure if she entirely agreed. “I wonder, though, if home sometimes isn’t where you’re from,” she said.

The girls looked at her as if she had already answered her own question. Alex wondered if that had been the real question lingering in her mind all along.”

Just listen, book review

Back with another book review!!!!

“There has to be a middle. Without it, nothing can ever truly be whole. Because it is not just the space between, but also what holds everything together.”

A quote from the book.

Title: Just Listen

Author: Sarah Dessen

Format: Paperback

Pages: 400

My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

About(Goodreads):

Last year, Annabel was “the girl who has everything” — at least that’s the part she played in the television commercial for Kopf’s Department Store.

This year, she’s the girl who has nothing: no best friend because mean-but-exciting Sophie dropped her, no peace at home since her older sister became anorexic, and no one to sit with at lunch. Until she meets Owen Armstrong.

Tall, dark, and music-obsessed, Owen is a reformed bad boy with a commitment to truth-telling. With Owen’s help, maybe Annabel can face what happened the night she and Sophie stopped being friends.

My review: This was a totally new experience….. But I loved it. I don’t know why, but all the same I loved it….. It taught me soooo many things. One of my posts: Working towards the middle is dedicated to this book. I can’t find the right words but just understand this that it is a ‘ must-read’.

—Working towards the middle —

Salamun alaikum people!!!💕💕💕 Let’s talk about ”working towards the middle”

But have you ever heard of this term?

Well if you have not, then let me tell you, it’s an Anger Management term.

We hear some people saying the we should learn to ‘fit in’ or that we should go with the flow. While some people advise us to ‘be ourself’.

‘Working towards the middle’ theory tells us that we should not have “do or die” viewpoint.

‘I will do it or I will not’ attitude proves to be a slow killer sometimes…. Causing chaos, disturbing mental peace.

We begin to compare ourselves with others and start losing self-confidence, just because we couldn’t complete something we had thought about.

Instead develop a ‘can do’ attitude. Try your level best. It gives immense satisfaction to think that we did our best. This satisfaction will help gain self-confidence which in turn helps in achieving more😊

For it is rightly said:

وَلَيَنصُرَنَّ اللَّهُ مَن يَنصُرُهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَقَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٌ Andsurely Allah will help him who

helps His cause; most surely Allah is Strong, Mighty.

22:40 from Holy Quran

This will keep you happy and your surroundings will radiate that happiness, that joy……. In this pandemic nothing can be better than spreading joy and hope.

So remember to work towards the middle🌈

P.S I read about this term in ‘Just listen’, I will be posting it’s book review soon♥️♥️♥️

For I Pity Them, book review

Our dear Potterhead Aanya is back with another book!!! I got the draft and the opinions are honest and my own.

Title: For I Pity Them

Author: Potterhead Aanya

Format: E- Book*

Pages: 60

My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

About(from Goodreads):                Pity, what is it? It’s the feeling of sorrow and compassion caused by the sufferings and misfortunes of others. I don’t pity those who are poor, ill, dying, yes I do feel sorry and pain, seeing them in such a condition, but I pity those who are rich, spoiled and have everything. Why? Read on……

My review: I have never felt such a loss of words……. I will say that her writing is polite but quite persuasive😂😂😂😉 but I think the poems she wrote and the content were really mature.(I mean to say that she has written it after experiencing it.) She has used scientific research too. I think that this was a very good book and it is worth every penny 😊 she concludes it by saying…. I think you should read it and see for yourself.

Ingredients:

  1. Around 1 tbsp of butter

Makes 2 sandwiches if you divide it properly.

Recipe:

1. Warm your pan and when done off it.

2. Add the butter(should be a little above room temp, a little more solid I mean so that it doesn’t start getting burnt)

3. Once the butter is melted ,add the cocoa powder and mix both.

4. Then add the sugar(powder if possible, mixes easily) and give it a good mixing.

* if you feel it’s too thick then add 1/4 tsp of milk. It won’t be as smooth as the market ones but it will be tasty.☺️

Hiatus!!!!

Hey Potterhearts, I am going on a short hiatus. I am under pressure, completing homework and studying…. My exams are coming too, so till 12 December I am out. You will be getting some scheduled posts maybe🙁

Mug Pancake

Hey Potterhearts, so I made mug pancake which I think you will want to eat😋😋😋

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2-3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp butter +(approx 1/4 tbsp too)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 5 drops vanilla essence
  • 1/4 tsp baking pwdr

Note: You can change the measure as per your requirement. Like I love vanilla’s fragrance and taste….And also the 1/4 butter is totally your choice🙂

Recipe:

1. Take your butter in the mug and melt it in the microwave ( takes approximately 5-8 seconds, don’t leave it for long or it may get burnt up)

2. Add the milk in and stir, I advise to add 2 tbsp first….. And if you feel afterwards feel free to add.

3. Add the vanilla essence(I forgot this at my first attempt and the cake didn’t have a taste 😂😂😂)

4. Sieve the dry ingredients and add them to the mug(this results in a lump free mix)

5. Mix all the ingredients and put it in the microwave. It can take 1-2 minutes or more.

So maybe first it will be like this but keep mixing of you feel it’s thick then add only a little bit of milk
Result

Voila your cake is made❤️❤️❤️

I will be attempting again so wait for that recipe before attempting this😁

Hey Potterhearts, here is your Wondorous Quote 😊

It doesn’t matter how greatly you’ve been hurt or how much you’re hurting, it’s what you do with the pain that counts. You could cry for years or you could choose to learn and grow from it

Chris Colfer, The Land of Stories, The wishing Spell

Just Some Bibliophilic Things #8

This Week’s Question: Who is your favourite author? Why? Which book is an absolute favourite of yours written by that particular author?

Just Some Bibliophilic Things #8

Hey Potterhearts, so I know I haven’t participated in any of these but I am gonna start now, better late than never 😁

My favorite author are Lena Jones and Chris Colfer. I love how Lena’s mind works and her way of writing…. I like her Agatha Oddly: The Silver serpent (the others are also awesome ❤️) and Chris has such a vivid imagination, sadly I have read just one of his book but I loved it…. It was the land of stories: the wishing spell.

So there we are done with the meme. Bye

A Potterheart’s Question

Whazzup Potterhearts! So I have got a question, you know a question only my dear Potterhearts can answer

The Question is in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, when Harry goes to Flourish and Blotts the man there says that 200 copies of the book of invisibility (which they had ordered) were lost( because these were invisible) so just tell me why didn’t they use a Summoning Charm(Accio ….)

I know the question is a stupid one🤣

Still if you wanna answer you are free to in the comments 😁 Good luck

Don’t worry I am still a Potterheart, am not removing problems from the books just got curious about this one😜

At 17, Samira Joshi has only one dream in life.

She wants to be a spy. And why not?

Spying runs in the Joshi genes. Her great-grandmother was famous for sticking her nose in everyone’s business. Her grandmother had a flourishing side-business of tracking down errant husbands and missing servants. Her parents are elite intelligence agents for RAW. Yet, they want their only daughter to become a doctor. When she sees a college friend being trapped by a pimp, Samira does some spying of her own, and discovers the existence of a secret sisterhood of teen spies — The Spyders. And, she wants in!

The question is, do they want her?

Alex and Conner Bailey’s world is about to change.

When the twins’ grandmother gives them a treasured fairy-tale book, they have no idea they’re about to enter a land beyond all imagining: the Land of Stories, where fairy tales are real.

But as Alex and Conner soon discover, the stories they know so well haven’t ended in this magical land – Goldilocks is now a wanted fugitive, Red Riding Hood has her own kingdom, and Queen Cinderella is about to become a mother!

The twins know they must get back home somehow. But with the legendary Evil Queen hot on their trail, will they ever find the way?

1658: Prince Aurengzeb of India has imprisoned his own father, murdered his brothers, seized the throne of Delhi and declared himself Emperor. He immediately begins a reign of tyranny, invading neighbours, banning music and the arts, destroying temples and churches, and unleashing terror on a vast kingdom comprising a fifth of the world’s humanity.

During this time his own beloved daughter, Zebunissa, forms a secret poetic society called the Makhfi (Hidden One) in Persian. Through this society she practices the arts secretly and plans rebellions to overthrow her demonic father and restore justice in the kingdom. Bestowed the title of Princess of India and then Empress of India, she dupes her father and his vicious nobles in a courageous and dangerous attempt to save her people from the Emperor’s tyranny.

Part fiction and part history, The Hidden One brings a tear to the eye while thrilling the heart as we witness 17th century India through the eyes of an unsuspected character – a Muslim princess. It narrates the powerful story of Zebunissa, and the Makhfi – the secret society that has been lost over time but deserves its rightful place in history for its role during one of India’s darkest eras. Available historical data has been analyzed to bring to light this obscure group about which very little has thus far been written or known. An unforgettable cast of characters and progression of fateful events.

Agatha Christie’s most famous murder mystery

Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of the year, but by the morning it is one passenger fewer. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed a dozen times, his door locked from the inside.

Isolated and with a killer in their midst, detective Hercule Poirot must identify the murderer – in case he or she decides to strike again.

The case is closed. Five years ago, schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered by Sal Singh. The police know he did it. Everyone in town knows he did it. Almost everyone. Having grown up in the small town that was consumed by the crime, Pippa Fitz-Amobi chooses the case as the topic for her final project. But when Pip starts uncovering secrets that someone in town desperately wants to stay hidden, what starts out as a project begins to become Pip’s dangerous reality . . .

Perfect for fans of One of Us Is LyingWe Were LiarsGone GirlPretty Little Liars and Riverdale.

Join plucky heroine Sophie, her eccentric guardian Charles, and her intrepid orphan allies on the rooftops of Victorian Paris, as they encounter suspense and adventure that will keep kids of all ages on the edge of their seats right to the heartwarming end.

My mother is still alive, and she is going to come for me one day.

Everyone thinks that Sophie is an orphan. Found floating in a cello case and swaddled in a Beethoven score, she is the only recorded female survivor of a shipwreck on the English Channel. But Sophie remembers seeing her mother wave for help…

Charles, a fellow survivor and an eccentric scholar, finds Sophie and brings her home to his London bachelor flat. Raised in a quirky home filled with music, words and love (though questionable diet), Sophie grows into a free-spirited tomboy with a taste for Shakespeare and the unshakeable belief that anything is possible. And you should never ignore a possible.

So when the child welfare agency in its bureaucratic wisdom threatens to send Sophie to an orphanage, the optimistic girl and her odd guardian flee to Paris on a quest to find her mother, starting with the only clue she has – the address of the cello maker.

Secured in an attic to evade the French authorities, Sophie escapes through the skylight and meets Matteo and his network of rooftoppers – homeless urchins who tightrope walk above the busy streets below, dining on pigeons and snails alongside the gargoyles and bell tower of Notre Dame. Together they set out on an unimaginable adventure, scouring the city for Sophie’s mother before she is caught and sent back to London – and most importantly, before she loses hope.

When a baby escapes a murderer intent on killing the entire family, who would have thought it would find safety and security in the local graveyard?Brought up by the resident ghosts, ghouls and spectres, Bod has an eccentric childhood learning about life from the dead. But for Bod there is also the danger of the murderer still looking for him – after all, he is the last remaining member of the family. A stunningly original novel deftly constructed over eight chapters, featuring every second year of Bod’s life, from babyhood to adolescence. Will Bod survive to be a man?

The Cuthberts are in for a shock. They are expecting an orphan boy to help with the work at Green Gables – but a skinny red-haired girl turns up instead. Highly spirited Anne Shirley charms her way into the Cuthberts’ affection with her vivid imagination and constant chatter, and soon it’s impossible to imagine life without her. A favourite classic with cover and introduction by the inimitable Lauren Child, award-winning creator of Clarice Bean and the hugely popular Charlie and Lola series.

Magic is real!,poem

I believe in magic . Always keeps me happy.

Magic is in the air, this excitement none can bear. Magic is real believe it or not. You will find the answers for which the world you have sought.

Ask a wish but you have to wait , wait till the clock chimes eight . Till that time the stairs of joy and glee you may climb, because remember even miracles take some time.

‘WHEN YOU CAN FLY’ by John Legend

I came across an animated short film,Crow,The legend….. ♥️♥️♥️ I loved the song in that movie so here are the lyrics👇🏻

When you can fly by John Legend

Frogs gonna leap
Gators gonna bite
A gray wolf pack is gonna rule the night
A mountain lion’s never been afraid of heights
But it’s better when you can fly

bunnies gonna hop, otters gonna play
The rooster can cock-a-doodle-doo all day
Catfish can swim, but I bet they’d say
It’s better when you can fly

The view from the blue sky
It looks so good when you’re up high
The blues come ’round, they won’t get me down
I can make my escape

I’m not sly like a fox
Don’t sting like a bee
A grizzly won’t ever run away from me
I think of all the things they could never see
It’s better when you can fly

The view from the blue sky
It looks so good when you’re up high
The blues come ’round, they won’t get me down
I can make my escape

I’m not sly like a fox
Don’t bite like a flea
A grizzly won’t ever run away from me
I think of all the things they could never see
It’s better when you can fly

Oh, the view from the blue sky
It looks so good when you’re up high
The blues come ’round, they won’t get me down
I can make my escape

Oh, everybody sings
But not like me
The air’s much better here above the trees
Look up in the sky, I’m a sight to see
It’s better when you can fly

Oh, the view from the blue sky
It looks so good when you’re up high
Oh, but when I’m down, won’t you come around?
Help me make my escape

No matter how high a crow can go
There’s gonna come a time when he’s brought down low
Oh, hit rock bottom, and I just don’t know
If it’s better when you can fly

And here’s the film’s link https://youtu.be/AO4PrtAKu2E

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did😊♥️♥️♥️

Sophie Kinsella’s books’ reviews!!

Hey Potterhearts, I have read some of Sophie Kinsella’s books and I loved them….. The stories are first-rate😃 This post contains the books I have read so far.

1. The Undomestic Goddess

Sypnosis

Workaholic attorney Samantha Sweeting has just done the unthinkable. She’s made a mistake so huge, it’ll wreck any chance of a partnership. Going into utter meltdown, she walks out of her London office, gets on a train, and ends up in the middle of nowhere. Asking for directions at a big, beautiful house, she’s mistaken for an interviewee and finds herself being offered a job as a housekeeper by a rich couple. Her employers have no idea they’ve hired a lawyer(that too a famous one)–and Samantha has no idea about stitching, cooking or how to open the #@%# ironing board. She explores a new world….. Where she learns to stitch, cook, do the laundary and fall in love…. But when her old life catches with her, will she want it back?

My review

This book’s plot was so different yet amazing. It is something you won’t even think about….. It took me 2 days to read it. One can experience Samantha’s world as it changes. Totally awesome….Unputdownable

2. I’ve Got Your Number

Sypnosis

Poppy Wyatt has never felt luckier. She is about to marry the ideal man, Magnus Tavish, but one afternoon her “happily ever after” begins to fall apart. In a hotel fire drill she loses her engagement ring which has been in Magnus’s family for 3 generations (and that too on the day when Magnus’s parents are coming ). Moreover in the panic her phone gets stolen. As she paces shakily around the lobby, she spots an abandoned phone in a trash can. Finders keepers! Now she can leave a number for the hotel to contact her when they find her ring. Perfectly perfect!

Well, perfect except that the phone’s owner, businessman Sam Roxton, doesn’t agree and wants his phone back. He doesn’t appreciate Poppy reading his messages and wading into his personal life. Poppy is not too happy with it but has to act as his P.A.

What ensues is a rib-tickling and unpredictable turn of events as Poppy and Sam increasingly upend each other’s lives through emails and text messages. As Poppy juggles wedding preparations, mysterious phone calls, and hiding her left hand from Magnus and his parents . . . she soon realizes that she is in for the biggest surprise of her life.

My review

This book was extremely chucklesome…😁 Poppy was trying to find her ring, working as Sam’s P.A, doing wedding preparations and trying hard that Magnus and his parents do not come to know that she has lost the precious ring….. It was killing.

3. Confessions Of A Shopaholic

Sypnosis

Rebecca Bloomwood is a journalist. She spends her working life telling others how to manage their money, while her leisure time is spent in shopping.

Retail therapy is the answer to all her problems. She knows she should stop, but she can’t. She tries Cutting Back, she tries Making More Money but neither seems to work. The stories she concocts become more and more fantastic as she tries to untangle her increasingly dire financial difficulties. Her only comfort is to buy herself something – just a little something…

Can she ever escape from this financial crisis, find true love, and regain the use of her Switch card?

My review

Rebecca has her closet full to the brim but still she can’t stop. When she feels happy or sad she wants to buy something. It was quite hilarious at reading and imagining her trying to cut back or save. It was a light read. Ok if you don’t have anything else to read or nothing to do.😏

Personally I loved the first two books but I am never going to read the shopaholic series until I am left with no option.

Do tell me which is your favourite Sophie Kinsella book? 😁

Happy Gandhi Jayanti

Happy Gandhi Jayanti to my fellow Indians! And also to Bapu’s other admirers😁

An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind.

Mahatma Gandhi

I love this quote because it shows that how sometimes we can be wrong. Bapu saw this world in an entirely different way. This amazing way of his must have attracted so many admirers and I am one of them. By seeing the world from Bapu’s perspective humans can live a happy and satisfied life. Without the bitterness of hate, jealousy or envy, without the burden of lies or other guilt.

Bapu has changed lives of trillions of people with his ways of peace and love. He left us but he also left his teachings, which are inspiring the present generations and hopefully will inspire the future generations too.

Wondorous Quotes#1

Hey Muggles here’s today’s Wondorous Quote😊

“I have a hope, a hope that one day each of us realizes that we have to make a change in the world, but not just make it because there are times when we are the change.”

Potterhead Aanya, Letter to the world from a naive mind

I totally agree with your thoughts 👍🏻

Aanya I loved this quote of yours and got sooo inspired by it that I decided that this will be the first quote I will post😊

WORKING HABIT CHANGED DURING LOCKDOWN AND NEW WORKSTYLE TO BE ADOPTED POST LOCKDOWN RESUMPTION OF WORK

The COVID-19 pandemic in absence of any vaccine forced the whole world into lockdown making people stay indoors. This situation led to multiple challenges in the way people normally interact and do business like commuting long distances to physically interact in face to face meetings.

During this lockdown period, administrators all over the world realized that on an average, the most efficient people in the world work 5-6 hours & that the time dedicated for ‘work from home’ results with higher efficiency, also the above challenge of face to face meeting is negated by present day communication, technology & high speed internet.

This situation also led to multiple learnings such as increased efficiency, saving of energy and travel time, saving revenue spent on office space, electricity and time wasted in establishment cafeteria, work-life balance is maintained which leads to motivated and radiant employees which in turn leads to increased efficiency.

Many company executives are toying with the idea of asking some percentage of workforce to work from home, which will lead to high productivity and reduced turn-around time as these are sustainable and are easy to implement.

History has always proved that in difficult times humans emerge with better levels of competence, the same is true with the current scenario.

In a nutshell, we can use these learnings & use them as better opportunities in post lockdown period.

Opportunities, a quintain (5 line poem)

Many people have wings and sometimes the whole sky…… All they need is the courage to fly…… To soar high & conquer the big blue sky………

The inner meaning of the quintain. Many people have the ability and sometimes a big opportunity ,all they need is to summon some courage, to use their ability and grasp that opportunity like a challenge and conquer it .

Sometimes you just need courage and you can turn that challenge, that opportunity ,into the first stepping stone to your success.

Hey Muggles, I saw this tag on Way Too Fantasy and thought ‘I have to do this!!’

So let’s get started!!!

How do you keep track on your TBR list?

I am never able to 😝 Actually when I see new books I put them in my TBR list and the list keeps on increasing 😁😁

Is your TBR mostly print or e-book?

It’s mostly 90% print and 10% e-book. I am mostly into print but sometimes I go for e-books.

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

It depends on my mood😜

Name a book that has been on your TBR the longest.

The truth about Melody Brown by Lisa Jewell

Name a book that you recently added to your TBR list.

Rooftoppers by Katherine Rundell

Is there a book that’s on your TBR list strictly because of its beautiful cover?

Nope, I only buy books when they have good covers along with a good storyline.😜

Is there a book on your TBR that you never plan on actually reading?

Name an unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for.

Normally I don’t go for unpublished books BUT I have one now in my TBR and it is…….’The Good Thieves’ by Katherine Rundell 😁

Is there a book on your TBR that basically everyone has read but you?

That will be Artemis fowl Series

Is there a book on your TBR that everyone recommends you read?

Percy Jackson and Dork diaries (I have started reading these but haven’t read more than 2 books)

A book on your TBR you’re very excited to read.

‘Agatha Oddly: Murder at the Museum’ by Lena Jones. I am dying to read it 😰😰😰

The number of books on your TBR shelf.

More than 30😁and I am literally struggling to manage it.

I tag you all!!!
